Higinio Carneiro affirmed during his participation in the international conference for the 26th anniversary of the Cuito Cuanavale victory. Carneiro recalled that the actions carried out in Cuito Cuanavale by Cuban troops, were an important part of the history of Africa and the world. The conference was aimed at informing all Angolese people on this struggle in which Cuba played a decisive role. The historical triumph was achieved on March 23rd, 1988, and from that moment on, the racists of Pretoria were forced to sign agreements, where Angola, Cuba, South Africa and the U.S. were involved.
