Havana, April 15 (RHC) – Cuba and East Timor celebrated on Monday the 10th anniversary of a bilateral health cooperation program and the establishment of the Cuban Medical Brigade in that island country.
During a cultural gala held at the Cuban embassy in Dili, Cuban ambassador Luis Laffitte highlighted the achievements of Cuban health workers in Timor, where more than 23 thousand people have been assisted and almost a hundred surgical interventions have been performed.
This collaboration has also resulted in the training of 819 Timorens doctors in Cuba, said the Cuban diplomat.
Likewise, Laffitte congratulated the Cuban health workers in Timor for their constant efforts and the success of their mission in that country.
