Santiago de Cuba, May 10 (RHC)-- A special tribute to Mariana Grajales, Mother of the Nation, who embodied the greatness of Cuban women, was paid by Army General Raúl Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party.  A bouquet of flowers was placed in his name on this Mother's Day, before the pantheon of the Maceo family's progenitor.

In Santiago de Cuba, the head of the Confederation of Cuban Workers, the CTC, Annie Palacios, also placed a floral wreath on behalf of the Cuban people for whom the giving of their children, their energies and their love for a free homeland, is reflected in the many Cubans who in our country and abroad are fighting COVID-19.

As is customary every second Sunday of May, a representation of the authorities of Santiago de Cuba go to the cemetery to honor the mother and widows of the heroes and martyrs of Cuba.
