Havana, June 28 (RHC)-- The Provincial Defense Council (CDP) of Havana, with the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, analyzed on Sunday a group of measures to be applied in the capital once the territory enters the first phase of the first post-COVID-19 stage.

The members of this body began the meeting with the issue of transportion, one of the most complex in the capital, according to Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, president of the CDP, who reported that they are working to provide accurate information to the people on this issue.

Iribar commented on Diaz-Canel's acknowledgment of the news that Havana had no cases at the close of business on Friday, which shows the rigor of the measures applied in the city.

The president said that he wants to avoid the possibility of a resurgence, to continue the work in food production and to recognize the work of the people of Havana in support of the regulations of health authorities.

Iríbar referred to the response of police officers and read the information published in the Sunday newspaper Tribuna de La Habana, to illustrate the authorities' confrontation with the tendency stimulated by the enemies of the Revolution in the social networks to call for social disobedience.

Dr. Carlos Alberto Martínez Blanco, Provincial Director of Health, explained the follow-up of the actions for the anti-vector and epidemiological fight in Havana area and emphasized the follow-up of health authorities in the province with the objective of advancing in the requirements foreseen when the opening of the tourism facilities in the city begins.

He reported that the indicator of the two events that are about to close in Havana is fulfilled, taking into account that no new cases of spread of the disease were detected.

Torres Iríbar said that what seemed impossible has been fulfilled: more than 1,500 samples per day, a rate that guarantees the effectiveness of the investigation.

East Havana is the municipality with the highest number of registered patients with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI), and the measures planned to deal with these cases are being applied.
