Havana, April 15 (RHC)'' Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Thursday recognized the work of the fifth group of health workers who returned to the country after facing Covid-19 in Mexico.

It is with immense pride that we receive you', said the president in a video message, in which he highlighted the arrival of the 92 professionals on the eve of the beginning of the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of the Caribbean nation.

Díaz-Canel highlighted the impact of the performance of the professionals at the Institute of Social Security and Social Services for Workers General Hospital, which earned them the recognition of the Mexican Ministry of Health, the government of the capital of that country, and the national government.

More recently, the Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, thanked the dedication and quality of the work of the Cubans in caring for the Mexican people in the face of the pandemic.

“We are counting on you and on the experiences and lessons you have learned during this mission to continue confronting Covid-19 in Cuba”, concluded the head of state.

There are still 100 aid workers in Mexico, who should return to the country in the next few days.
