Havana, July 6 (RHC)-- The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, announced the suspension of the seventh ordinary session of the Parliament, slated for Jul 14, given the complex health situation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a press release published by local media, Lazo annulled the call which had been approved on Jun 24 of this year.
No date was announced for the celebration of the ordinary session.

The Caribbean island has been suffering from a spike of COVID-19 infections since the beginning of the year. In the last week, infections have been near or surpassed 3 thousand daily.

The plan of the ordinary session included the approval of legislation aimed at improving the judicial system: the Courts of Justice, the Administrative Process, the Procedural Code, and the Criminal Process laws.
