Havana, July 10 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations to the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, in the framework of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the independence of that African nation.

In his message, Diaz-Canel ratified the will to continue developing the historic relations of friendship that unite both countries.

According to the Foreign Ministry website, such ties have been marked, among other actions, by the island's contribution to the training of hundreds of South Sudanese, as part of the scholarship programs that it offers to the African continent.

South Sudan has invariably expressed its support to Cuba against the blockade during the voting of resolutions against that criminal US policy.
