Gerardo Peñalver, new First Deputy Foreign Ministry.

Havana, December 21 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today congratulated the island's new First Deputy Foreign Minister, Gerardo Peñalver.

Through his Twitter account, the minister also wished success to Marcelino Medina, who served in this position for the last 12 years and who has been appointed Cuban Ambassador to Spain.

Gerardo Peñalver has a degree in International Political Relations and held various responsibilities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among them Ambassador to Germany and Russia.

Since 2020 he has served as Vice-Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
