Cuban vice-president arrives in Honduras to attend Xiomara Castro´s inauguration.

Tegucigalpa, January  26 (RHC)-- The Vice President of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, thanked on Wednesday the support given to the Caribbean nation by Honduran solidarity organizations and their denunciation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

At the head of the delegation invited to Xiomara Castro's inauguration ceremony, the vice president also acknowledged the brotherhood of the Central American nation and its contribution to the donation campaigns of supplies for the fight against Covid-19 on the island.

During a meeting with the Cuba-Honduras Friendship Association members, the representative of Cuba explained the current socio-economic situation and the country's efforts to move forward despite the intensification of unilateral aggression.

Valdes Mesa explained on Twitter that, under the Martí principle that to Honor, Honor. On behalf of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, he awarded the Commemorative stamp for the 60th Anniversary of that institution to the members of the solidarity group.

For her part, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Josefina Vidal said that on January 27, the day of the inauguration of the first woman president of Honduras, the delegation of the Caribbean nation would ratify the will and commitment to expanding bilateral relations.

They will also promote the work of deepening the bonds of friendship and economic, commercial, and cooperation ties; likewise, "we will have the great satisfaction of personally thanking the many friends and Cubans residing in the country for their solidarity and support."
