Havana, January 28 (RHC)-- The National Electoral Council (CEN) of Cuba is concluding on Friday a dynamic test as part of the organization of the popular consultation on the draft Law of the Family Code.

The drill initiated the day before is the previous step for the beginning of the meetings with the electorate in all the country's constituencies.

In the preparation, which corresponds to the provisions of articles 211 of the Constitution of the Republic and 28 of the Electoral Law, thousands of officials in charge of carrying out the process at all levels are participating.

The test's purpose is to check the state of organization and preparation of the electoral authorities, jurists, computer specialists, and other support personnel, Granma newspaper reported on Friday.

The analysis of the legislative project, which will begin next February 1 and will last until April 30, will involve some seven million voters. Cuban authorities hope that the opinions expressed by the population will further enrich the content of the Code.

The Code has been described as a reflection of the Cuban family's diversity and being in tune with advances in international law. It will finally enter into force after being approved in a referendum.
