Havana, Jun 12 (RHC)-- Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law in Moscow ratifying four protocols to Russian-Cuban intergovernmental loan agreements granting Havana a deferral of payments.

The document was ratified by the Russian Federation Council and subsequently by the State Duma.

The senators emphasized that the extension of these agreements will make it possible to assist the largest Caribbean island in financing oil supplies and will contribute to strengthening Russia's positions in Latin America.

The International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council noted that cooperation between the two nations is of special importance for the Eurasian country.

Between 2006 and 2019, Russia provided Cuba with state export loans for an amount equivalent to 2.3 billion dollars.
