President of Equatorial Guinea receives Cuban Foreign Minister

Havana, June 24 (RHC)--Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla held Thursday a fraternal exchange with the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

According to information published in Cubaminrex, the exchange was conducive to conveying Cuba's willingness to deepen bilateral political-diplomatic ties in the context of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

The Head of State and Government of Equatorial Guinea highlighted the historical ties of brotherhood that unite his country with Cuba, recalled his last official visit to the island in 2014, and ratified his country's opposition to the blockade suffered by the Cuban people.

Previously, the Cuban Foreign Minister held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Simeon Oyono Esono Angüe, to review the state of bilateral relations and ratify the willingness to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation in the areas of health, education, agriculture, and construction, among others.

Rodríguez Parrilla thanked Equatorial Guinea for its support for the struggle to lift the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and reiterated Cuba's unwavering commitment to supporting African causes.
