Havana, July 12 (RHC)-- The deputy head of the National Statistics and Information Office (ONEI), Juan Carlos Alfonso Fraga, offered details on the organizational work for the next Population and Housing Census in Cuba.

Work is being carried out on updating the census cartography, the preliminary registration and the design of the necessary computer applications for the census planned for this year 2022, he said.

In addition, a drill will be conducted in the Santa Cruz del Norte municipality in Mayabeque province.  Alfonso Fraga explained that this is a complex process in which around 100 thousand people work, based on a questionnaire that must be carried out under specific standards.

For the acquisition of these resources, ONEI receives support from international agencies, such as the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations Children's Fund and the European Union.
