Argentina to send 2.7 tons of medical supplies to Cuba

Buenos Aires, August 14 (RHC)-- Argentina will send the first batch of 2.7 tons of medical supplies to Cuba as solidarity support following the massive fire at the Matanzas oil terminal, Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero reported Sunday.

According to Prensa Latina news agency on Twitter, the foreign minister said his country´s donation would arrive in Cuba on Monday.

There will be other shipments on Thursday and Friday. Solidarity and cooperation guide our foreign policy, Cafiero said.

Recently, many parties, including Frente Grande and Somos Barrios de Pie, expressed their strong support for the Cuban government and people and their confidence that Cuba would overcome these difficult times.

On the other hand, the Argentine Movement of Solidarity, the Association of Graduates in Cuba, and the Union of Cuban Residents started a campaign to collect medical supplies and medicines to treat those injured people in the large-scale fire.
