Santo Domingo, Aug. 17 (RHC)-- A donation of 40 tons of medical supplies and food from the Dominican Republic arrived in Cuba, destined for the hospital care of those injured by the major fire that affected the Matanzas Industrial Zone.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked on Twitter for this gesture. "Solidarity and cooperation of Latin America and the Caribbean with Cuba continues to grow," he said.

During the reception ceremony, the general director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), Magalys Estrada Díaz, thanked, on behalf of the Government and the people of Cuba, for the humanitarian aid.

The ambassador of that Caribbean country on the island, Flavio Rondón, said that this aid expresses the respect and admiration of the Dominican people and Government for Cuba, in which his nation has always found a helping hand in difficult times.
