Cuba expresses solidarity with Venezuela due to damages caused by heavy rains

Havana, Oct 8 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his solidarity with the people and government of Venezuela for the loss of human lives and damages caused by heavy rains and floods in recent days.

 

Through his Twitter account, the head of state conveyed his support to President Nicolás Maduro for the affectations registered in several states of his country.

 

On the same social network, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also expressed his sorrow and extended condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.

 

According to official sources, rainfall associated with a tropical wave affected 120 Venezuelan municipalities, with a preliminary toll of 18 deaths, 22 thousand damaged homes, landslides, fallen trees, and damage to the electric system. (Source: ACN)
