Garcia shows admiration for the creative resistance of the Cuban people in the last year.

Havana, Oct 19 (RHC) The Venezuela-Cuba Friendship and Mutual Solidarity Movement held a meeting on Tuesday in Caracas with Carlos de Céspedes, director for South America of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, to strengthen the ties of friendship between their peoples.

The general coordinator of the Movement, Yhonny García told Prensa Latina news agency that on the occasion they evaluated the preparations for the XII National Meeting to be held in the Venezuelan capital, from November 17 to 19, which will condemn the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

Garcia said they were aware of the events that took place in Cuba and the solidarity shown by the Venezuelan people. "We also express our admiration for the creative resistance of the Cuban people in the last year," he said.

The general coordinator of the Venezuela-Cuba Friendship and Mutual Solidarity Movement commented that the worst hurricane suffered by the Cuban people is "the criminal blockade" that the U.S. government has been exercising for more than 60 years against the Caribbean nation.

In its XII National Meeting next month, the Movement will pay special tribute to Venezuelan revolutionary Alí Rodríguez Araque (1937-2018).

The meeting will be attended by 150 national delegates from social and political organizations, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, and the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network. (Source: PL)
