Havana, Oct 21 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday congratulated the Juventud Rebelde daily, created by the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, 57 years ago.

On his Twitter account, the head of State wrote that the Cuban youth newspaper “continues telling its readers the stories of a country that resists and creates. Congratulations to this newspaper with soul,” he added.

On October 21, 1965, Fidel Castro announced the creation of the newspaper, which had Revista Mella and Diario de la Tarde as antecedents, to gather and continue the exemplary traditions of Cuba’s youth press.

The first issue circulated on October 22, 1965. It was a 16-page tabloid in three colors: red, blue, and black. (Prensa Latina)
