Havana, October 22 (RHC)-- Workers at the newspaper Juventud Rebelde have given special recognition to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and to Cuban President Raul Castro, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the daily's foundation.

Marina Menéndez, Director of Juventud Rebelde, presented the recognition to the First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, who received them on behalf of Fidel and Raul.

The recognition says Fidel was the inspiration for the newspaper.  Attending the ceremony on Tuesday were member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Rolando Alfonso Borges, and Armando Hart Dávalos, President of the Jose Marti Cultural Society.
