Cuban and U.S. diplomats exchange views on consular issues

Havana, Nov 9 (RHC) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio received U.S. diplomats at the Foreign Ministry in Havana to discuss consular issues.

 

During the exchange with Rena Bitter, assistant secretary of the Department of State for Consular Affairs, and Ur Mendoza Jaddou, director of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Cuban representative reiterated the importance of the full resumption of immigration and consular services at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, including the processing of non-immigrant visas.

 

Fernandez de Cossio also confirmed the willingness to contribute with the necessary steps for the full operation of the migratory and consular services of the diplomatic headquarters.

 

Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, General Director of Consular Affairs and Cubans Resident Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also participated in the dialogue on behalf of Cuba. (Source: Cubaminrex)
