Raul Castro sees Diaz-Canel off at airport for international tour

Havana, November 16 (RHC)-- Army General Raúl Castro Ruz went on Wednesday to bid farewell to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who began an international tour that will take him to Algeria, Russia, Turkey and China.

On its Web page, the Presidency informed that as part of his program, the Cuban head of state will hold meetings with his counterparts in the countries he will visit, and will address issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

It will be an opportunity to continue promoting political dialogue at the highest level with nations with which we maintain excellent relations, and to boost ties in the economic, commercial and financial spheres.

Also present at the airport were the Vice President of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales Ojeda.

Likewise, Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera and Major General Lázaro Álvarez Casas, heads of the Ministries of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and of the Interior, respectively, all members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, bade farewell to the President.

According to the source, the Cuban delegation also includes Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez; Deputy Prime Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas and Alejandro Gil; Ministers Rodrigo Malmierca, Vicente de la O Levy and José Ángel Portal, among other officials.
