Shipment of Cuban anti-Covid-19 vaccines in Mexico

Mexico City, Dec 23 (RHC) The second shipment of Cuban anti-Covid-19 Abdala vaccines is already in Mexican territory, the institution Biológicos y Ractivos de México (Birmex) confirmed today.

 

According to the source, it is a shipment of 4.9 million doses against Sars-CoV2, which causes the disease.

 

The newspaper Milenio Digital informed that Mexico will continue with the National Vaccination Strategy when the population already has a high coverage rate, and at a time when health authorities are warning of a possible resurgence in January.

 

The first shipment is already in the health care centers and part of it is being used as a booster for adults over 18 years of age, according to the capital's Secretary of Health.

 

According to Cuba's Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Abdala is 92% effective against symptomatic Covid-19 disease, as well as 100% effective in preventing severe systemic disease and death in vaccinated patients, and 90% effective in severe patients, according to Excelsior newspaper.
