Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez

Havana, Jan 11 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez thanked Colombia on Wednesday for the humanitarian aid provided to our country to alleviate the damage caused by Hurricane Ian in the west of the island (Sept. 27).

On Twitter, Bruno Rodríguez posted “our deep gratitude to the Colombian people and government for sending humanitarian assistance to Cuba, in solidarity with the Cuban families severely affected by Hurricane Ian and also in support for recovery efforts”.

On Tuesday, Colombia conducted a protocol act for the solidarity assistance attended by Cuba´s Deputy Foreign Minister Nancy Benitez and Cuban ambassador in Bogota Javier Camaño.

The humanitarian assistance provides 142 tons of roofs for houses, water tanks, toiletries, kitchen utensils, sheets, bedspreads, and other items for the families, Benitez detailed.

This gesture is added to others of great human value, as when last August, Colombia donated three thousand square centimeters of human skin, to help in the recovery of those injured in the fire of great proportions that occurred in the industrial zone of Matanzas, in western Cuba, considered the most serious of its kind in the country.
