Parliament convenes extraordinary secessions for municipal assemblies

The process to elect deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power for a five-year term will be held on March 26, 2023.

Havana, Jan 25 (RHC) Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), convened an extraordinary session of the municipal assemblies of People's Power for February 5, the Official Gazette published today.

The extraordinary session aims to nominate candidates for deputies to the Parliament, according to agreement 447 of 2023 of the Council of State, signed by Lazo Hernandez and published this Tuesday in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette, number six.

Article 190 of the Electoral Law, establishes that the call for an extraordinary session of the municipal assemblies of People's Power to nominate candidates for deputies must be made no less than 45 days before holding the elections for said position.
