Havana, Mar 26 (RHC) Ulises Guilarte, General Secretary of Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC) voted on Sunday to elect the lawmakers of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament).

 

In statements to reporters, the CTC’s top leader highlighted the plural, inclusive and democratic nature of Cuba’s political system, which places citizens at the center of legislative management.

 

Guilarte expressed his conviction that the Parliament, to be set up on April 19, will have the support of the Cuban people, who are facing enormous economic and social challenges. He explained that the participation of trade unions in the debates before laws are approved in the National Assembly of People’s Power is significant. (Source: PL)
