Cuba and Canada ratify will to strengthen ties

Havana, April 7 (RHC) Cuba and Canada ratified the will to strengthen their relations and advocated working on projects of mutual interest, especially in cultural matters.

Cuban ambassador in Ottawa Héctor Igarza paid this Thursday a courtesy visit to the lieutenant governor of Ontario, Elizabeth Dowdeswell, and the president of the Legislative Assembly of that province, Ted Arnott.

During the meeting with Dowdeswell, both parties underlined the will to strengthen ties between both nations.

In the exchange with Arnott, Ambassador Igarza highlighted the prominent presence of women in the National Assembly of People's Power and explained the election process in Cuba. After the meeting, Igarza took a guided tour of the legislative headquarters and took part in an open session of Ontario’s Parliament.

The province of Ontario, located in central-east Canada, borders the United States and the Great Lakes. Ottawa, the country's capital, is located in this province.

Good news. Looking forward to the day when the US government takes similar measures.
