Cuba and Grenada celebrate 44 years of diplomatic relations

Havana, April 14 (RHC) - Cuba reaffirmed today its willingness to maintain ties of brotherhood and cooperation with Grenada, regarding the 44th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Foreign Ministry reported on Twitter.

Diplomatic relations between the two nations were formalized on April 14, 1979, one month after the triumph of the Granada revolution led by Maurice Bishop. Currently, the collaboration between Cuba and Grenada is carried out, especially in the construction and health sectors.

Cuba also appreciates the support of Grenada in favor of the resolution that demands the lifting of the economic blockade imposed by the United States.

A temple of solidarity between the two countries is the Memorial built in Saint George in honor of the 24 Cubans who died while working in the construction of the airport in that capital during the invasion and occupation of the United States in 1983. (Source: Prensa Latina)
