Cuba is holding today constitutive session of the National Assembly of People's Power

 

Havana, April 19 (RHC) – Cuban National Assembly of People's Power celebrates this Wednesday the constitutive session in its 10th Legislature, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Law.

 

The legislative body of the Caribbean nation, when constituting itself for a new Legislature, elects its president, vice president, secretary and other members of the Council of State from among its deputies.

 

In addition, it elects the President and the Vice President of the Republic, and designates, at the proposal of the president of the country, the prime minister, the vice prime ministers, the secretary and other members of the Council of Ministers.

 

The meeting, convened by the Council of State (permanent collegiate body of the Assembly) is scheduled to take place this Wednesday at 09:00 (local time).
