Buenos Aires, Apr 30 (RHC) Members of the Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA) and the Movement of Solidarity with the island demanded today the end of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean nation.

The participants in the demonstration toured the main avenues of the capital and arrived near the National Congress in cars with flags and posters to denounce the cruelty of such a policy.

In statements to Prensa Latina, URCA member Adonis Torres indicated that the caravan intends to publicize the damages caused to the Cuban people by Washington for more than six decades.

He also noted that the initiative was called to condemn the tightening of the blockade through the application of 243 measures approved during the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump (2017-2021), which remain in force.

We also demand the exclusion of Cuba from a spurious list of sponsors of terrorism drawn up by the United States. We all know that this is not true, he said.

Cubans living in Argentina want to send a message to the world: although we are far away, we support the people of Cuba, our families, and brothers, he added. (Source: Prensa Latina)
