Cuban FM thanks resolution against U.S. blockade

Havana, Jun 23 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Friday thanked the Resolution adopted by the New York City Council (NYCC) urging Congress and President Joe Biden to lift the hostile and unjust blockade imposed on Cuba.

The Cuban minister uploaded on his Twitter account the resolution (Res. No. 285-A) which also calls for the elimination of all prohibitions for Americans to travel freely to Cuba, as well as for Cuba to be excluded from the unilateral list of states sponsoring terrorism.

American activist Rosemarie Mealy explained to Prensa Latina that about 90 city councils, county boards, legislatures, school boards, labor councils, unions, and other organizations have asked Joe Biden to end hostility against Cuba.

Mealy recalled that New York is home to the UN and “we saw 185 UN member states vote overwhelmingly for the 30th time against the economic blockade against Cuba in 2022.” (Source: Prensa Latina)
