Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez

Havana, Jun 25 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denied on Saturday the farce spread in a recent report by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), which holds the State of Cuba responsible for the death of counterrevolutionary Oswaldo Payá Sardiñas.

Through the social media platform Twitter, the Foreign Minister denounced that the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has joined this farce, although the causes of Payá's death, on July 22, 2012, have been determined by courts in Cuba and Spain.

The message from the Cuban foreign minister affirms that Blinken's pronouncement, on the occasion of the 53rd general assembly of the Organization of American States -OAS-, is dishonest and not the result of ignorance.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), attached to the OAS, issued the Report on Admissibility and Merits No. 83/23 of Case 14.196 this June 12, in which, ignoring the results of the judicial process, concludes that agents of the Cuban State participated in the traffic accident that caused the death of Payá and Harold Cepero, in the province of Granma almost eleven years ago.
