Central American Solidarity Forum with Cuba begins in Honduras

Havana, Aug 11 (RHC) The 3rd Central American Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will begin this Friday in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with the presence of some 150 delegates, who will condemn the US blockade on the island.

The event will last until the 13th and will include four panels and various work tables. It is expected to be inaugurated by President Xiomara Castro.

The Hero of the Republic of Cuba Ramón Labañino, current vice president of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of the island, will lead debates on collaborative projects and actions to counteract Washington's unilateral measure.

One of the panels of the meeting will be dedicated to the Caribbean nation as a territory of peace against the interference of the United States, which illegally occupies a part of its territory at the Guantánamo Naval Base.

In addition, homage will be paid to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of his birth. Also, the current situation in the region in the anti-imperialist struggle will be addressed.

The meeting will have a final declaration that will be approved in plenary, and will close with a tribute to Fidel Castro at the Latin American and Caribbean Youth Festival in Plaza Cuba in the Honduran capital. (Source: PL)
