Cuba's prime minister checks prioritized programs in Baracoa

Havana, October 12 (RHC)--  The Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz presides over a working visit to Guantánamo on Thursday, which began in the city of Baracoa, where he participates in the Municipal Administration Council (CAM).

During the meeting, the compliance of the province and the country with previous visits, the indications to face the current energy contingency in view of the fuel deficit and the progress of the banking process, among others, will be verified.

Accompanied by the highest political and governmental authorities of Guantánamo, several ministers, directors of institutes and deputy ministers, Marrero Cruz also checks the actions for the implementation of the economic and social development strategy of the first village and its impact on the progressive economic sustainability of the territory, as well as the increase in the quality of life of its inhabitants.

The head of government insisted on the priority of food production, with the fulfillment of the cold campaign, in the local production of construction materials and in the fulfillment of the housing program, very sensitive issues and of high concern of the population.

The program for the development of tourism and the operation of the export pole of the agroforestry and coconut company Baracoa were also evaluated.

This is the fifth governmental visit to Guantánamo since the implementation of this work system, which intends to continue connecting the national government with local management in the territories.

The previous visits by members of the Council of Ministers took place in November 2018 and 2019, February 2022 and June of this year.
