Gil Fernandez pointed out that the gap between prices, salaries, pensions and income in general from labor continues to be one of the main unresolved problems.

Havana, Dec 12 (RHC) Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, reported on Monday that retail inflation in the country last November was 2.29 percent (%), lower than in the same period of the previous year, when it reached 4.11 percent.

Through his account in X, the holder indicated that inflation is slowing down, and attached to the publication, graphs that attest to this, with values as index, monthly, accumulated and inter-annual variation.

"Retail inflation in November was 2.29%. In November 2022 it had been 4.11%. With this result, a retail inflation index of 27.03% and an interannual index (Nov23/Nov22) of 31.78% is accumulated in 2023 (Jan-Nov)," he added.

Gil Fernández pointed out that in spite of this, the gap between prices, salaries, pensions and income in general from labor continues as one of the main unresolved problems, and it must be faced with more production, efficiency and control.

The Council of Ministers approved last week, in an extraordinary session, the report on the estimated performance of the economy at the end of 2023 and the proposed Economy Plan for 2024, as well as the Preliminary Draft State Budget for next year.

The documents will be submitted for the consideration of the deputies in the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its 10th Legislature, starting next December 20 (Source: ACN).
