Cuban vice president held a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart in the context of the 19th NAM Summit

 

Havana, January 19 (RHC) The vice president of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, held a meeting this Friday in Kampala with his counterpart from Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, in the context of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Valdés confirmed to his Vietnamese counterpart his satisfaction with the high-level political dialogue between the two nations, and recognized the Asian country’s role in the economic, commercial and investment spheres in Cuba.

Both parties expressed interest in promoting bilateral cooperation ties.

The day before, the Cuban vice president was received by the president of Uganda, Yoweri K. Museveni and took the opportunity to congratulate the African country for assuming the pro tempore presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77.

Previously, Valdés spoke with his counterpart Jessica Alupo, with whom he shared the interest in strengthening the existing ties of cooperation. (Source: PL)
