Havana, February 23 (Web Network) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel toured the municipality of Manzanillo, in the eastern province of Granma on Friday.

Together with Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organisation of the CC-PCC, the head of state exchanged with groups of workers linked to agriculture, industry and water supply.

In its profile on the social network X, the Presidency of the Republic said that they visited the "XX Aniversario" Accumulators Company, an entity with losses for five years, which is in the process of recovery and expansion of its corporate purpose.

Díaz-Canel insisted on seeking alternatives and protecting the highly qualified workforce there.

He also checked on the extensive investment process being carried out in the municipality to improve the water supply, one of the biggest problems in the area.

The president stressed that the issue must be a priority not only for Granma, but for the country as a whole.

The source recalls that this is the second visit of the PCC leadership to the province this year. In January, he visited the municipality of Río Cauto.
