Cuban sports delegation makes working visit to Japan

Havana, September 9 (RHC)-- Raul Fornes, first vice president of Inder, Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, heads a Cuban delegation that on Thursday held meetings with authorities of the main baseball franchises in Japan.

The Antillean director met with the general manager of the Softbank Falcons, with whom he exchanged on the hiring of athletes from the island and other issues of cooperation with the Cuban Baseball Federation.

Kuramochi Manabu, international director of one of the League's teams, Chiba Lotte Marines, said that there is a possibility of new incorporations of Cuban baseball players.

Later, during a meeting with the general manager of the Yomiuri Giants, Atsuhiro Ohtsuka, he expressed the team's great interest in including Cuban players in its roster.

Fornés' agenda also includes exchanges with the head of the Japan Professional Baseball League (NPB) and authorities of the Rakuten Eagles and Chunichi Dragons teams. (
