Cuban president receives Brazilian Minister Paulo Teixeira

 

Havana, March 8 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel received this Thursday Paulo Teixeira, Brazilian Minister of State for Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture.

Díaz-Canel highlighted the will of President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva to strengthen ties between the two countries. In this sense, he commented that the Caribbean nation frequently receives visits from Brazil with interesting proposals and many projects.

In statements to the press team of the Presidency of Cuba, Teixeira stated that in one year the Lula government matured 12 projects that will be signed this Friday between Brazil and Cuba. He referred to a high-level team from Brazil, with work objectives related to agricultural technology and tropical agriculture. Likewise, he commented on the interest of Brazilian businessmen in making investments in Cuba.

Regarding this Thursday’s agenda, the Brazilian minister talked about visits to several farmers in the western province of Matanzas, agroecological experiences, banana plantations, and some supply centers.

He pointed out that Brazil really likes the Caribbean island and has a lot of gratitude for Cuba. He also referred to Cuban doctors working in his country and pointed out that many Brazilian doctors were also trained in Cuba. (Source: Cubadebate)
