Korean ambassador Ma Chol Su concludes his diplomatic mission in Cuba

Havana, March 15 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel today received at the Palace of the Revolution, in Havana, the ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Ma Chol Su, who concludes his diplomatic mission in the island.

The head of state described the diplomat's stay as successful and ratified the friendship, solidarity and brotherhood led between the two peoples, parties and governments. He also assured that the Asian country can always count on the support, solidarity and friendship of the Caribbean nation in all areas.

For his part, the ambassador considered this meeting an honor and also having received the Friendship Medal on the day, in recognition of his work in Cuba for five years. He said that during his mission, he was able to confirm the strength and creative resistance of the Cuban people.

By decision of their historical leaders, Fidel Castro Ruz and Kim Il Sung, Havana and Pyongyang established diplomatic relations on August 29, 1960. Since then, Cuba and the DPRK have maintained close mutual cooperation and agree on international issues, including Pyongyang's condemnation of the US more-than-60-year blockade of the island. At the same time, Havana advocates peace on the Korean Peninsula. (Source: PL)
