Havana, June 4 (RHC) Cuba has proposed a local development project, which blends traditional medicine with modern scientific advancements, during the ongoing Week of Latin America and the Caribbean at UNESCO.
Infusions and herbal teas, which are widely used to address health issues, are part of the cultural heritage and diversity of Latin America and the Caribbean, being currently showcased in the central hall of the Paris UNESCO headquarters.
According to Dr. Rodolfo Arencibia, leader of the project, it is being showcased at UNESCO, from June 3 to 6, with the goal of contributing to the preservation of traditional medicine and sharing the experiences of the initiative.
Cuba has taken on the role of coordinator and advocate for the UNESCO chairs dedicated to medicinal plants in Latin America and the Caribbean.
