Equatorial Guinea Reiterates Support for Cuba against U.S. Blockade

Malabo, June 4 (RHC)-- The government of Equatorial Guinea has reiterated its support for Cuba and against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed and maintained by the United States against the Cuban people for over half a century.

The country's First Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs and Democracy, Clemente Engonga Nguema, met in Malabo with Cuba's ambassador in the Central African country Pedro Doña, who briefed him on the ongoing process toward the reestablishment of U.S.-Cuba diplomatic ties.

During the exchange, Clemente Engonga Nguema, who is also Minister of Internal Affairs and Local Corporations, expressed his satisfaction with the current state of friendship and cooperation relations between Equatorial Guinea and Cuba, which he termed as excellent.

Clemente Engonga noted that he will pay an official visit to Cuba in September.
