Johannesburg, June 15 (PL-RHC)-- Cyril Ramafosa, Deputy President of South Africa, reiterated the support of his country to the lifting of the unjust economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for over half a century.

The South African deputy president met in Johannesburg with Salvador Valdes Mesa, Vice President of Cuban Council of State, and pointed to the excellent state of relations between the Caribbean nation and the African continent.

Ramafosa referred the upcoming visit to South Africa of two of the five Cuban Heroes, anti-terrorist fighters who were unjustly imprisoned in the United States, and also noted he will soon travel to Cuba on an official visit.

Salvador Valdes attended the 25th Summit of the African Union in Johannesburg and expressed his appreciation for the attention and hospitality of his South African hosts.
