Slovakian Premier Concludes Official Visit to Cuba

Havana, October 9 (RHC)-- After holding talks with Cuban President Raul Castro on Thursday, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico wound up his official visit to the island, which he considered a very significant step to strengthen relations between the two countries.

During the official talks, Raul Castro and Robert Fico reiterated the positive state of bilateral links and exchanged on issues of international interest.

In statements to reporters in Havana, the Slovakian premier said that during his visit he signed an accord related to the debt between the two nations, and a memo of understanding between companies of the two countries in the area of energy.

Fico also expressed interest in the Cuban pharmaceutical industry and said that such products could be imported by Europe. And he wished Cuba success in its ongoing update of its economic model.

Cuba and Slovakia established relations on January 1, 1993 and currently share dynamic political and diplomatic relations.
