Havana, December 14 (RHC)-- The first anniversary of the release of three Cubans who were unjustly imprisoned in the United States for many years will be celebrated with rumba music and the Rumbón for victory.

The Palacio de la Rumba in Havana will serve as host to this concert dedicated to Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez.

Groups like Timbalaye, Addache Matanzas and soloists Pedro Francisco, Tata Almeida and Ruben Bulnes will perform to commemorate the first anniversary of the arrival of all the Cuban Five, three of whom were finally released on December 17, 2014.

It was also announced that the President of Honor of this cultural event is the renowned Cuban pianist Frank Fernández.

Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez were imprisoned in U.S. jails for infiltrating terrorist groups in Florida and reporting on their activities.

On December 17th last year, as part of a humanitarian agreement between the governments of the United States and Cuba, Gerardo, Ramon and Antonio were finally released after spending more than 16 years in U.S. prisons.
