Buena Fe has suspended concerts in the US after extreme-right wing anti-Cuban groups demanded their cancellation following the duet’s condolences for the passing of Fidel Castro.

The group was scheduled to start a tour of the United States in mid-December that would take it to Washington, New York, Houston, and the Masonic Center in Tampa, Florida.

In a note sent to Prensa Latina news agency, the duet says that the cancellation had nothing to do with pressures, but "with respect for our audience."

"We don’t want to irresponsibly expose our followers and concert organizers.  It’s also an act of respect for diversity of thinking."  "Blue Night Entertainment —adds the note— is the company that represents Buena Fe, and we thank it for having professionally decided to take risks with us."

For his part, Javier Otero, the group’s agent in the US and President of Blue Night Entertainment, said: "We’ll always support Buena Fe’s career as the great performers and human beings they are."
