Event to discuss history teaching in Cuba

The II National Workshop on History, Marxism-Leninism and Education for Citizen Life will be held today in Cuba, in the framework of the 205th anniversary of Karl Marx's birth.

Havana, May 12 (RHC) -- The II National Workshop on History, Marxism-Leninism and Education for Citizen Life will be held today in Cuba, in the framework of the 205th anniversary of Karl Marx's birth.

Among the objectives of the event is to continue the improvement of these teachings, it will count on the participation of training organizations of the Caribbean nation and will be held through commissions and videoconferences.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education, the activities will include an evaluative analysis of the implementation of the 16 recommendations of the Third Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba's Central Committee, related to the way of teaching the disciplines analyzed at the meeting.

In the first edition of the workshop, held in March last year, special attention was paid to teaching, research and communication in the improvement of the teaching-educational work in the Caribbean nation.

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero recently reflected on the importance of continuing to innovate in the creation of attractive methods for teaching Cuban History, Marxism-Leninism, the habit of reading and citizenship education.

He insisted on the need to strengthen the educational and political-ideological work in educational institutions, as well as to form citizens in whom the values of patriotism, solidarity, internationalism and the defense of the truth of the Revolution stand out.
