Havana, May 16 (RHC)-- As a tribute to Cuba's National Hero, 128 years after his fall in combat, the presentation of the book José Martí: un cubano a prueba de grilletes (José Martí: a shackle-proof Cuban) was held on Tuesday in Havana.

The event was held at the Rubén Martínez Villena Public Library, in the Historic Center of the Cuban capital, where the author of the text, María Luisa García Moreno, recalled Martí's humanist dimension.

The literary work, in charge of Verde Olivo publishing house, approaches the young Martí from his departure from Spain, once he finished his studies, until his departure to Cuba in 1895.

The researcher and author proposes an approach to the child, the adolescent, the young Martí from a novel and entertaining point of view based on studies related to the most universal of Cubans.

In a language that is understandable and close to the understanding of the new generations, García goes through the brief and fruitful life of today's National Hero of Cuba.

His existence was devoted to the struggle for freedom, sovereignty and independence of his beloved homeland from the Spanish colonial yoke.

The book also delves into the physical and social environment in which Martí developed and how his revolutionary thought was formed, and has very attractive illustrations for all ages.

Precisely because of its significance, this volume was highlighted as the book of the month and is available on the digital platform of the Verde Olivo publishing house for free download, according to the Cubaliteraria portal. (Source: Prensa Latina).
