Havana, May 19 (RHC)-- Dedicated to the care of the environment and creative women for children, the IV International Meeting of Arts for Children "Corazon Feliz" ("Happy Heart") will be held from May 24 to 28th in different parts of our country.

At a press conference held at the Abelardo Estorino Hall of the Ministry of Culture, Rochy Ameneiro, singer-songwriter and founder of the event, said that this is an event not only with children's songs, but also with all the arts, from theater to photography.

It is a space to transmit a message of peace and inclusion, and for children to get to know the artistic traditions of their age, she said.

Rochy Ameneiro pointed out that "Corazón Feliz" has managed to direct the gaze towards creation for the children's public both in Cuba and in Latin America, and the television program of the same name, which is broadcast every Saturday on the Cubavisión channel, has played a fundamental role in this.

Ruben Dario Salazar, artistic director of the event, said that theater, circus, dance and musical groups from provinces such as Pinar del Rio, Havana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Las Tunas will be present.

From the program, Salazar highlighted the awarding of the Children's Photography Contest "Water, hearts and images", sponsored by the National Center of Culture Houses, which will recognize the works that best reflect how damaged the precious liquid is in the largest of the Antilles.

He commented that on May 24 and 25, at the Villena Hall of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the theoretical event "Thinking about childhood with the heart" will take place, in which the challenges for the treatment and care of this population sector from the arts and society in general will be discussed.

A special moment will be the one of the company Teatro de las Estaciones, directed by Salazar himself, during the Reading Day that will take place at the José Martí's Birthplace Museum.

At than Havana site will be performed "A girl with wings", a scenic walk through the children's poetry of Dora Alonso, which will have as guests Julio Cesar Gonzalez Pagés, historian and researcher, and the writer Alexis Diaz Pimienta, he said.

The theater hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts will host "Corazón de agua", a concert show dedicated to the care of water that will open with the performance "Lluvia de palabras", by Teatro El Mirón Cubano, said Salazar.

Groups such as Cantoalegre, from Colombia, Argentina's Sin Cordones, Teresa Usandivaras and Estrellita Caracol, and Cuba's Gaby and Sofi, the Children's Choir of the Manuel Saumell Music School, Rita del Prado, the Karma Duo, Enid Rosales and Teatro Tuyo will participate, he added.

According to its organizers, the "Happy Heart" meeting will move to the El Mejunje Cultural Center in Santa Clara and the La Edad de Oro Theater in Pinar del Rio for a concert by troubadour Yudi Herrera and the musical show "Corazón Titiritero" (Puppeteer Heart), respectively.

Tribute will be paid to women creators for children, especially Tita Maya (1959-2020) founder of the Colombian group Cantoalegre.

The IV International Meeting of Arts for Children will end on May 28th with the presentations "Cantar con el corazón" and "Por siempre fantasía", the latter dedicated to the work of different Cuban singer-songwriters who are references in the musical repertoire for children.
