IV International Encounter of Arts for Children Corazon Feliz

Havana, May 24 (RHC) -- The theoretical event of the IV International Meeting of Arts for Children "Corazon Feliz" -- "Happy Heart" -- entitled "Thinking about childhood with the heart" began its sessions today and will last until Thursday at the Villena Hall of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).

The first day brought together artists like Teresa Usandivaras, from Argentina, Rita del Prado, from Cuba and Lulu Vieira, from Colombia, to present their experiences in the field of artistic creation for children.

Usandivaras highlighted the role of the group Los Musiqueros, founded 36 years ago in Argentina.   He talked about the work with instruments made from recycled objects, with which he was able to take his music to various places in that South American nation, especially to the most intricate areas.

Rita del Prado, Cuban singer-songwriter, recalled the birth in 1994 of the Movement for Latin American and Caribbean Children's Songs, her project "La guarandinga" with Duo Karma and her collaboration with the Colombian group Cantoalegre.   Del Prado said that her approach and participation in each of these spaces gave her the opportunity to speak a common language with other artists who are also dedicated to developing artistic content for children.

Today digital networks allow us to be much more connected and an event like "Corazón Feliz" is an example of this, said the artist.

Julieta Ontivero and Leonardo Viturro, members of the group Sin cordones, from Argentina, highlighted their work in the creation and promotion of competitive music to tell the story of childhood through current and inclusive themes.

Ontivero pointed out that the gender perspective runs through their works due to the importance of breaking stereotypes at this time, as well as talking to children about diversity among people and equal rights.   She insisted on the need to make music for children that serves as accompaniment, always with the quality and aesthetics that work for this population sector requires and deserves.

Lulu Vieira, creative director of Cantoalegre, presented the experiences of this group from Medellin, Colombia in the digital scenario.

Vieira, who is the daughter of Tita Maya (1959-2020), one of the founders of the group, pointed out that with the new formats they take the magic of pedagogy and music to all possible corners not only of the Colombian nation, but to other peoples of the world to accompany children in the construction of their happiness.  We tell stories from different sonorities and through books, songs and games we are also together with parents and caregivers to form a better childhood, she said.

The International Meeting of Arts for Children "Happy Heart" will be held until May 28 in different spaces of the country and will be dedicated to the care of the environment and women creators for children.

Corazón Feliz will also be held at the El Mejunje Cultural Center in Santa Clara and the La Edad de Oro Theater in Pinar del Río, where a concert by troubadour Yudi Herrera and the musical show Corazón Titiritero will take place, respectively.    (Source:ACN)
