Havana, May 13 (RHC) - This Friday begins the recovery stage of the 11 postponed games in the National Baseball Series, which has just finished its regular schedule of 75 games.

Five of the eight teams that will play in the post-season have already qualified: Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Avila, Las Tunas, Granma and Matanzas.

Mayabeque, Industriales and Pinar del Rio are almost with their tickets in their pockets, although Villa Clara also has remote mathematical options.

For Villa Clara to qualify, it would have to win the 4 games it has pending and then it would have the same number of wins and losses as Pinar del Rio and would leave it out for having won the series between them.

This Friday, Artemisa-Industriales and Las Tunas-Mayabeque will face each other in the beginning of the recovery duels.

The other two teams that will also take part in this phase are Villa Clara and La Isla.

At the end of the regular schedule, Sancti Spíritus led the table (45-30), followed by Las Tunas 42-31, Granma 43-32, Mayabeque 39-31, Ciego 41-34, Industriales 39-33, Matanzas 40-35, and Pinar 40-35 in the first eight places, which give access to the playoffs.

Holguín was ninth (39-36) and Villa Clara tenth (36-35), with 4 games pending.
